Antique McKee Innovation Tall Crystal Vase Floral & Button Etched Cut Glass
Beautiful large McKee Innovation crystal glass flower vase. It stands about 10 1/2" tall by 5 1/4" across the top opening. Etched flowers, long leaves & button pattern around the top. It is impressively thick & heavy, weighing over 4 lbs., with a gorgeous sparkle. In nice condition, there is a chip on the top rim area, I
didn't
' see it, but I was able to feel it. Otherwise it is perfect. Please see all pics/close-ups. A wonderful, rare addition to your home or collection!
A mixture of EAPG and Brilliant, the “Innovation Cut Glass Line” was launched in 1916, and could be considered the forerunner of
Elegant Glass
, whose era began in 1920.
Each piece started out as mold-pressed glass. Then, McKee used hand wheel cutting to create the floral motifs that had been made famous on American Brilliant glassware.
One line, many patterns.
Innovation is easily recognized (once you know what it is) by its heaviness and those distinctive flowers, leaves and buttons, which appear on just about all of the various patterns. Beautiful!
