Clove Chewing Gum gained popularity during prohibition for its ability to mask the smell of alcohol on the breath. Offering a spicy floral flavor, clove gum was invented by the Thomas Adams company in 1914.
This gum flavor was discontinued by Adams/Mondelez in 2015. In 2018, Gerrit J. Verburg Co. acquired the brand so that it can be enjoyed once again. Made using the same original flavors, but slightly different recipe, these gums will bring old memories back to many who have missed them over the past few years.
