    Description

    Offered for sale is a wonderful children's dish set in the "Laurel" pattern of Depression Glass.  This set was manufactured by the McKee Glass Company during the 1930's and was not reproduced.  This set is very difficult to find today and I am quite pleased to have found this in a box that I packed away so many years ago!  The original sets were produced in several styles & colors such as French Ivory, French Ivory with decorated rims (red, green, orange), Jadite, Jadite with scotty dogs, and French Ivory with scotty dogs.  In my many years of buying and selling Depression Glass, I only had 3 pieces of Jadite with scotty dogs and a few pieces of other colors.
    Today I am listing the following pieces to be sold as a set:  1 creamer, 3 cups, 4 saucers, 4 dinner plates.  This original set is missing only 2 pieces:  the sugar bowl and one cup.  This set is in the "French Ivory" color BUT has the rare ORANGE TRIM on each piece.  Orange is the most difficult color of trim to find according to Gene Florence, author of "Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass" - 16th edition - copyright 2004.  The measurements of each piece are as follows:  the creamer measures 2 1/2 inches tall with an opening of 2 3/8 inches, the cups measure 1 1/2 inches tall and have an opening of 2 7/8 inch, the saucers measure 4 1/2 inches across, and the dinner plates measure 6 inches across.  This set is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with a bit of roughness (tiny flakes) on 2 or 3 plates but no missing trim.  I have tried to show this in one or two photos.  The orange trim is 99 percent intact on this set.  Each piece is marked with the McK (McKee) mark on the bottom.
