monster Industrial knife switch Rapid Electric DPST 500Amp Ref no. C2196/500DPST

Description

Large Rapid Electric disconnect or knife switch. Ref No. C2196/500DPST. Double Pole Single Throw. Rating is 500AMPS I think (blades are 1/4" thick). Used, good working condition. Contacts are in good condition. Tight contact grip in closed position. 3/8" Bolt-on connections.
Base is 11.5" x 9-5/8". Overall height is 6.75". Handle is an insulating material, probably phenolic. The bar (function unknown) aside the grab handle that projects out past the handle front surface has some damage at its mount (last photo). A small piece is broken off the handle assembly at that location. The rest of the handle is good.
Obviously shows wear with tarnish, dirt, scratches and some base underside material broken off.
Very heavy. Great for a display...bolt it to the wall of a man cave....Steampunk.....or use it as a disconnect for a high current experiment.
