Up for auction is a very rare Sony MiniDisc Deck, MiniDisc 6 MD changer for an automobile, 114 MiniDiscs in solid MD Case and remotes! They are from a one-owner household, the previous owner was a Record Store owner and radio station DJ. I am not sure exactly if these are re-writable, and two of them are still new. I have tried the deck, it does turn on and has played a disc but it did not initially read disc - I assume for age it is likely dust is inside and may need light cleaning laser lens cleaning and perhaps machine oiling gears (I only recommend a professional do this to prevent damage to the player and to prevent electrocution to yourself if testing with unit open and plugged in). I have not attempted to open or clean anything. Without a disc inside the player cycles from "Hello" to "Eject," will not turn off when power button pressed and after makes a whirring noise after left on for a little while.
I assume someone who is familiar with MiniDisc players or electronics could correct this.
I do not have the manual but have read a PDF online of the manual and it looks like you need an amplifier with volume control to use the unit for external sound unless you directly place headphones with a 3mm adapter which we did test and there is a headphone volume control knob. I am also including a 6 MiniDisc CD changer for I believe a car trunk and looks like it comes with everything needed including the faceplate-like song changer, some type of converter patch through box and associated cords but it is untested. They come with original MiniDisc remotes but I have not tested them. Please note I do not have any original boxes. I have used the 12 picture eBay limit so let me know if you would like to see any other pictures before bidding. Overall physical conditions look nice with some signs of handling wear as to be expected of vintage electronics - Please see pictures to determine condition.
