Vintage junk drawer lot. Here is a partial list.I.B.E.W. Local 953 Eau Claire WI 1951, League of Tarcisians For The King, Art Deco button cover, Future Farmers of America FFA, Rope Coil, Year Book Staff, Lions Club (no pin lock back), Two (2) American Flags (one large, one smaller), Moose Head, Bull Dog Head (screw back), Boy Scout, American Motor Cycle Association 2 Year, Columbia Medical Group 25 Years, and Methodist Church Sunday School (SS). There is a horn caddy spoon. It may be Georgian and come from Scotland.
These items were carved from cow horns. They were historically done by Gypsy travelers who would de-horn cattle on farms in exchange for land to camp for the evening. They were sometimes allowed to keep the horns which they turned into items to sell. This is in excellent condition for its age with no cracking and very light wear. It is 4 inches long and the spoon bowl is about 2 inches at the widest point. There is a rare, 1930's, Roothmoor coats medal or zipper pull. Appears to be brass, has raised Scottie dog on the front and is marked on the back Maurice L. Rothschild. It is 1 inch by 3/4 inch. Next is a St. Croix Dale brass medal or token. It marked Alumni Association and says "Today is the first day of the rest of my life" and "AA Olethan". I believe that St. Croix Dale might have been a hospital. It is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Next are two antique AA bronze coins. They are both 1 1/4 inches in diameter and one has been drilled to hang on a neck chain. Both say "To thine own self be true" and "Unity, Service, Recovery". There is also a 1943 Lincoln steel penny, a drilled bronze "Good Luck" medal drilled to hang on a chain, and a $.50 token from the Harbor Bar in Red Wing Minnesota. There are two Republican National Committee (2002, 2003) red white and blue enamel pins. Backs are blank. They are 3/4 inches in diameter. Two American Dental Association pins. One is for "Life Member". Both are red white and blue enamel. One has "Jostens" on the back. The other is blank. They are both about 3/4 inches in diameter. Two American Flags. One has an additional cross (clergy?). Both are about 1/2 inch at widest point. There is a gold tone elephant pin with "Knowles" on the front. This is for Warren Knowles, Governor of Wisconsin. It is marked "Gerrys" on the back. It is about 3/4 inches. The last is a set of gold filled wings about 1 1/8 inches long. There is an Elks Award Citizenship medal. Has a mark on the back that I cannot make out. The second is a Wisconsin School Music Association Chorus pin. No marking on the back. The third may be a junior high school pin. It has a JH on the front and I believe the year 1938. It is marked sterling on the back. All are in very good to excellent condition. I only accept PayPal and do not ship internationally
