Actor Mark Wahlberg’s Las Vegas Mexican restaurant caught fire on Wednesday, less than two months after its grand opening in September.
The blaze at Flecha Cantina reportedly stemmed from a faulty outdoor firepit around 5:30 p.m. local time, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The fire was captured in multiple videos shared on X, which seemingly showed the flames surging on the terrace in front of the restaurant as alarms blared in the background.
Despite how dramatic the blaze looks in one particular clip, shot from inside a passing car, Wahlburgers CEO Randy Sharpe assured the Review-Journal it wasn’t as destructive as the video suggests.
“The whole front of the building has reflective windows, so it made it look pretty spectacular, but not in a good way,” Sharpe said, adding the fire department arrived quickly and put out the flames “in 20 minutes.”
The modern Mexican eatery reopened by 7:15 p.m., Sharpe said. No injuries were reported and there was no damage done to the inside of the restaurant.
According to People, the fire broke out the night before a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is still scheduled to go ahead as originally planned.
Flecha Cantina has not yet remarked about the incident on its social media pages, though it has since posted promotional content.
This is Flecha’s second location, the first of which opened in June in Huntington Beach, Calif., about 40 miles south of Los Angeles. That location came out of a partnership with famed plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif, known for starring on E!’s “Botched,” alongside Dr. Terry Dubrow.
Two-time Oscar nominee Wahlberg, 53, founded the Wahlburger restaurant group with brothers Donnie and Paul, the latter of whom is a chef. The Wahlburgers chain operates locations around the U.S. as well as in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
